The only difference between the Windows and non-Windows versions is getdata.exe is not included in the non-Windows version which results in a much smaller download file.
If you have trouble downloading the file (see a blank window after the download) and you are using Internet Explorer, click on the link above with the right mouse button and select "Save Target As..."
